explorer saturday

as i said before, saturday was a really great day. friday night was immensely foggy, and on saturday morning we all awoke to a frosty city.  i brought my camera out christmas shopping in case i saw something worth catching. i have to add, the osborne biz was giving out free hot chocolate at osborne and stradbrook, and there was a 4-pack of carollers going from business to business. so fun! its so good to see genuine holiday spirit. :)

a few words about the pictures:
no worries, that pup is just snoozin on the shop counter. he's alright, i petted him!
i wanted to show everyone how messy my room is ALL THE TIME NOW (annoying)
i really loved my saturday outfit and i wanted to share it, but i never really know how to make my face... am i too dramatic?
i got that vintage broach from my mom to sell in my shop, but i kept it instead ;)
i upcycled a necklace from the thriftstore into the necklace i'm wearing below, and i've decided to keep it as well (for now, at least!). it's a little horse.

happy wednesday, people!

ps. 3 more days until the POP UP
pps 7 more days until christmas!

old friends/new memories

it started early yesterday this morning, i think, when a seed of an idea was spread amongst old friends upon ye olde facebook wall. the post must now be about 100 comments deep, and it has developed into solid plans to go carolling! ive been once before when i was in high school choir with these lovely people, and now we are doing it again...it's only been a seven-year hiatus ;) we are all so overjoyed that the old band is getting back together, and even though we all have alot on our plates, we are all so so in.  on a different but similar note, i took these photos monday night after making 30 dozen perogies with my sisters, mother, aunt, and sister from a different mister/roommate. good times.

its beginning to feel a bit like christmas, friends!

(ps. as i accounced on twitter, tuesday was a day of record-breaking sales in my shop! i am so overwhelmed with appreciation.  thank you thank you thank you!)

jack frost and some things

it seems jack is at it again!

when i was a kid, i loved seeing the beautiful, intricate ice designs on the windows of our home, and i was always amazed that they are created by science, y'all. science. i haven't posted anything about the upcoming holiday, and its because i haven't really been involved in anything Christmas-y yet! everyone's doing their baking, making wicked advent calendars, picking out a tree and decorating, and i have been working away on my etsy and preparing for the POP UP shop that's happening on the 22nd! well, i guess the POP UP counts as something Christmas-y, right? it IS only three days before the big day! if you haven't already noticed, i made a few changes to my ladylikeness layout, and as you can see, it matches my shop, as well as my business cards. i'm kinda in love with it. :)

hope everyone had a terrific weekend! i got to dance silly to call me maybe, and really, that's all i need.

Ladylikeness Thrift & Vintage - open now!

holy crap, so this has all started! yesterday i finished up the listings for my etsy shop and they have all been published. it took so long to get to this point so i'm feeling pretty great...and exhausted. i've joined up with the community of winnipeg etsy people, and i'm so glad that i have local people to lean on for support. they are also the friendliest bunch! please check out my etsy site Ladylikeness Thrift & Vintage and let me know what you think!

hallowe'en and progress

this weekend was pretty busy, as i wanted it to be! all week at work i think about all the things i want to get done on the weekend involved my etsy store, and i always let other things come up and distract me.  this weekend i buckled down and just DID IT. i started shooting for ladylikeness. i'm having a really good time with it -- i just needed to start and try my best. experiment with things. i found a good spot in my house with good lighting and some space to breathe.

on saturday we went to a hallowe'en wedding social. i went as a bouquet of flowers!  it was SO itchy, friends. to make my costume i gluegunned fake flowers all over a modified t-shirt and wore a f21 skirt.  i also put some flowers in my hair (and a little sock, to provide some volume in the front)
 barcy went as a ghost.
